DPMO CALCULATOR

Defects per million opportunity DPMO calculator is available online for free which can be used in six sigma project for calculating six sigma level. Also this value can be used to asses where we are and where we want to be, in terms of process quality. This knowledge about defects per million opportunity (dpmo) will initiate a thinking process, which will give answer to the question, how we can improve the operations?.

DPMO means defects per million opportunity. This is the basics of quality. By knowing this value we can know how well our process is performing with respect to quality.

How to use this DPMO calculator

In the top of the page you can see a form which can be used for calculating the DPMO of your process. Before using this tool, collect some samples from your process and inspect. And enter the values in the form such as Total no of defects observed during sampling, No of defect opportunity per unit and sample size and click the ‘calculate DPMO’ button and you can see the DPMO at the bottom of the form. Please note that this calculator can only be used for discrete values.
