How to use random time generator

You will definitely need a set of random times for conducting observations in work sampling study. For getting a set of random times, enter the time at which you are going to start the work sampling study, in the tool above. Also enter the minimum and maximum time interval needed between the times in the set. And press ‘Generate random times’ button. Now you can see the set of 30 random times below the button. Refresh button can be used for resetting the tool. Start time to be entered in 24 hr format and result is also in 24 hr format. Time intervals to be entered in minutes.

How this random time generator works

After entering all the required data and clicking the ‘Generate random times’ button, the tool will generate a random number between ‘Minimum time interval between times’ and ‘Maximum time interval between times’ and add it to the ‘Start time’. This time is the first time of the random time set. Then again the tool generates a random number between ‘Minimum time interval between times’ and ‘Maximum time interval between times’ and add it to the first time. This process repeats for getting 30 times.
