How to change Auto Recovery time in Microsoft Excel

This article shows steps to change the default auto recovery in Micorsoft excel. It will be very useful to those who work on Microsoft Excel for their job, personal use, etc.

You are working on a very important file in Microsoft Excel. Suddenly your screen starts freezing, you read something appearing on the screen which says < Excel not responding > or < Excel stopped working>. And then that application is closed by the OS. Now when you open the file again..Boom, The changes you made in the file just 5 min back are lost. What you will do in this situation?

I know you are very smart. You will say, “Excel has the auto-recovery feature. I will go to auto-recovery and recover the file back. Huh… It’s so easy. And you are writing an article about it, go and learn something new,”

Wait there is a catch here, Let just say you recovered the file and when you open it still the changes made by you are not there. Why does this happen? It’s because the default autorecovery time is 10 min in Microsoft Excel. It means that every 10 min interval excel will save a copy of the file you are working on. We just have to change it to a time lesser than the default time. I suggest making it 1 min. Let’s see how we can do that.

Step 1: First ,Click on file button in an opened excel workbook
